The exterior of the estate was used for the 1993 Beverly Hillbillies movie, though in the movie, the grounds are much different with a long driveway where the gardens are today, and the back of the house which is much more impressive was used as the front.

I’m gonna have to check that out.

  3. Kenny Says:

the house that was used in the movie was knocked down in order to build this home.

I find it hard to believe this house is only 31,400 sq.ft. Just looking at it I woulda guessed it was atleast 50,000.

This house is so charming, The grounds are beautiful and remisent of the Doris Duke era. I like the layout and shape of the house, its stunning. I dont think this house captivates many people(qualified buyers) beause its in pasadena, but someone will like the idea of living in a regular area as apposed to a distastful “rich” area. I would definitly pay around $25-30mil for this place if I was that loaded, $52 is a bit steap??

i agree, it really is. I would definitely buy this home if I had the means to do so. I love the back of the home especially, it is so grand and beautiful. I love the curved staircase that leads to the lovely manicured lawn.I do however think that it will be hard to buy find a buyer who will pay $52 million.
